A Truly Special Corvette with an Outstanding, Irreplaceable Patina

This 1954 Corvette is an astoundingly original example, remaining in unrestored condition with an incredible patina. It was reportedly owned new by the general manager of a prominent auto dealership in Bridgeport, Connecticut, who used the car to promote his business. He kept it for 12 years, selling it to a fellow Bridgeport resident Andrew J. Kachmarik in 1966. Kachmarik retained it until 2003, his long-term ownership preserving its originality to an uncommon degree.

The Corvette was acquired from Kachmarik in 2003 by the consignor, who recognized its rare survivor condition. She states that the paint and interior are almost entirely original, and that its preservation extends even to its carpets, floor and trunk mats, beige canvas soft top, side curtains, and red window storage bag. The Corvette is further distinguished by its Wonderbar radio and period hardtop, and it benefited from a transmission rebuild in 2021. The consignor notes that identifying markings even remain on the side curtains and soft top rear window.

Displaying 64,588 miles when catalogued, the Corvette is complete with its original jack and side curtain storage bag, as well as the title issued in 1966. As a three-owner, incredibly preserved example with a mesmerizing patina, this is a rare chance to acquire a truly special first-generation Corvette sure to impress even the most seasoned enthusiasts.
