The Aston Martin Mk III is a seminal model for the marque, introducing the revised “open nose” grille treatment that has defined its identity ever since. Instantly recognizable and consistently prized by collectors, the Mk III is particularly rare in left-hand-drive form.

Presented here is a truly exquisite example, chassis 1566, which was delivered new in Paris via Garage Mirabeau to its original owner. An accompanying copy of the factory build record from Aston Service Dorset confirms that the buyer, M. Delannoy, received this Aston in the timeless combination of Moonbeam Grey with a contrasting red leather interior. According to a letter from Aston Service Dorset, the Mk III was upgraded to DBB specification in 1960. The car later spent time in Austria, where it participated in the Ennstal-Classic, and it was also shown at Salon Privé in the UK. It has been with the present custodian since 2018.

Today, the car presents in superb condition following refurbishments carried out under successive caring ownerships, including, most recently, a retrim in rich red hides performed by Aston Martin Works.

Desirably specified and undeniably elegant, this is a particularly special DB Mk III worthy of close consideration.

La voiture présentée ici, châssis n° 1566, est un exemplaire particulièrement séduisant qui a été livré neuf à Paris à son propriétaire d’origine par l’intermédiaire du Garage Mirabeau. Le dossier contient une copie du registre de fabrication d’usine d’Aston Service Dorset confirmant que l’acheteur, M. Delannoy, a reçu cette Aston dans la combinaison de couleurs intemporelle Moonbeam Grey (gris) avec un intérieur cuir rouge contrasté. Selon une lettre d’Aston Service Dorset, cette Mk III fut mise en configuration DBB en 1960. Elle est ensuite partie pour l’Autriche, où elle a participé à l’Ennstal-Classic. Elle a également été présentée au Salon Privé au Royaume-Uni. Elle accompagne son propriétaire actuel depuis 2018.

Aujourd’hui, cette voiture est désormais magnifique, grâce à des rénovations commandées par des propriétaires successifs soigneux, la plus récente étant un retapissage des magnifiques cuirs rouges réalisé par Aston Martin Works.

Avec sa configuration particulièrement intéressante et son élégance indéniable, cette DB Mk III est un modèle très spécial qui mérite une attention particulière.
