An Irreplaceable Addition to a Concours-Quality Owner’s Folio

Issued with a new Ferrari, and typically housed alongside the owner’s manuals in a leather folio, the Bulletin de Garantie, or warranty booklet, is among the most important factory documents belonging to an individual automobile. Recording identifying and delivery information, these documents are prized by knowledgeable collectors for the essential role they play in establishing a Ferrari’s original specification, distribution, and provenance.

Numbered 2943/1101, this original Bulletin de Garantie was issued on October 17, 1967, for chassis 10453 – the sixth of just 10 Ferrari 275 GTB/4*S NART Spiders built and the example delivered new to actor, racer, and Hollywood icon Steve McQueen. Addressed to the service department of Luigi Chinetti Motors Inc. at 600 Putnam Avenue in Greenwich, Connecticut, it identifies the model as “275/GTS” and, more specifically, “GTS SPYDER NART.”

The consignor, a Los Angeles-area automobile enthusiast, acquired this document decades ago among a collection of papers associated with McQueen, and has carefully preserved it ever since.

Offered separately from chassis 10453 (Lot 33), this exceptionally rare document will appeal to collectors of Ferrari literature and McQueen memorabilia alike.
