Launched in the US during spring 1998 as a 1999 model, the all-new 996-generation Porsche 911 marked a revolution as the first totally new 911 since 1964. Among the many changes, the 996-series 911 now featured a water-cooled flat-six engine. Displaying sleek new bodywork, the new 911 Carrera delivered fabulous performance, including a 174 mph top speed.
Finished in Arctic Silver Metallic (X1) over the Boxster Red Special Leather interior package (MA), this early production 1999 Porsche 996 Carrera was heavily equipped with over $31,000 in factory options, including the Aerokit package (XAA), Full Carbon package, leather sport seats, sport chassis, 18" Technology wheels, Hi-Fi Sound System, and Porsche Communication Management system. Exclusive to the Boxster Red Special Leather option were Boxster Red floor mats, aluminum instrument dials, and a carbon and leather steering wheel. The hood and front bumper are guarded by paint protection film, the undercarriage has been dry-ice detailed, and the IMS bearing has been replaced. The 996’s decals, stickers, and emblems are in place, and it is accompanied by original manuals, tool kit, spare tire, service records, and a Porsche Production Specifications Certificate.
Showing 42,555 miles when catalogued, and with well over a dozen services logged on its CARFAX Vehicle History Report, this is surely one of the finest and best-equipped early examples of Porsche’s 996 series extant.
