Ferrari established its factory-backed Challenge series in 1993 with the 348, offering amateur and semi-professional drivers a single-marque racing program. Introduced for the 2000 season, the lightweight 360 Challenge shed the 360 Modena’s air-conditioning, sound insulation, and much of its interior trim. It gained competition safety equipment, data acquisition, revised suspension, and larger front brakes. Although its 3.6-litre V-8 retained the road car’s 416 PS output, a weight reduction of approximately 130 kg helped sharpen its performance on track.
One of approximately 270 examples built, this 360 Challenge was owned, prior to the consignor's acquisition, by Swiss Ferrari specialist Kessel Racing and during that period reportedly received a new clutch and gearbox. In current ownership, documented by an invoice on file, the car received a service in 2020 by Ferrari Modena Cars SA, including timing belts, tensioners, and fluids, totaling just over CHF 4,000.
With its documented specialist ownership, this 360 Challenge is an approachable factory-built race car allowing for participating in a wide variety of exciting events.
