Piloti Ferrari Tribute to Ferrari’s Le Mans-Winning Era

Introduced in 2025, the Ferrari 296 Speciale transformed the 296 GTB into a lighter, more focused, and aerodynamically sophisticated road car. Its mid-mounted twin-turbocharged V-6 and electric motor produced a combined 880 PS, while revised suspension, powertrain calibration, and electronic controls sharpened its responses. Extensive weight-saving measures further distinguished the Speciale, while lessons learned from the 296 Challenge racing car helped Ferrari increase downforce by approximately 20% over the 296 GTB. In spirit, it continued the lineage of such celebrated limited-production berlinettas as the 458 Speciale and 488 Pista, now applied to Ferrari’s hybrid V-6 platform. ‌ At the Circuit de la Sarthe in June 2025, on the eve of the 24 Hours of Le Mans, Ferrari unveiled an even more exclusive interpretation: the 296 Speciale Piloti. Developed through the marque’s Tailor Made program, the configuration celebrated Ferrari’s FIA World Endurance Championship successes and paid tribute to its client racing drivers. Eligibility was restricted to clients participating in Ferrari’s official competitive and noncompetitive sporting activities. Mechanically, the Speciale Piloti retained the 296 Speciale’s full performance specification, including its 0–100 km/h time of 2.8 seconds, 0–200 km/h time of 7.0 seconds, and maximum speed exceeding 330 km/h. Ferrari described it as being “designed for those who live the track firsthand,” reflecting a community of drivers who “actively contribute to Ferrari’s racing legacy.” ‌ Its design drew inspiration from the 499P Hypercar, overall winner at Le Mans in 2023 and 2024. Available only to select Ferrari client racing drivers, just four exterior colors were offered: Rosso Scuderia, Blu Tour de France, Nero Daytona, and Argento Nürburgring. A contrasting Giallo Modena livery recalled the 499P, accompanied by a hand-painted FIA World Endurance Championship logo, Italian tricolore detail, and a competition number selected by the client. ‌ The motorsport theme continued inside, where thermoformed Nero Alcantara racing seats incorporated inserts made from the same fireproof fabric used for Ferrari’s official drivers’ suits. The selected competition number appeared again within the cabin, while carbon fibre trim and dedicated identification details further distinguished the specification. As Ferrari explained, “every detail is designed to reflect the driving experience and sense of belonging.” ‌ This one-owner example was configured through Ferrari’s Tailor Made program and was first registered in March 2026. Finished in* Nero Daytona* (Daytona Black) over Nero (Black) Alcantara, with Giallo Modena (Modena Yellow) accents and stitching providing vivid contrast, the car carries competition no. 69 as part of its Piloti identity. ‌ Its personalization plaque records an extensive carbon fibre specification, including carbon fibre wheels, rear trim panels, engine components, rear spoiler and diffuser, under-door covers, dashboard trim, front spoiler, rear bumper, and additional exterior elements. Racing seats and four-point black safety belts reinforce the competition theme, while Giallo Modena dashboard webbing, yellow Cavallino headrest embroidery, yellow brake calipers, and Scuderia Ferrari shields add further distinction. ‌ Additional equipment includes front-axle lift, adaptive lighting, front radar with adaptive cruise control, front and rear parking sensors, surround-view cameras, premium Hi-Fi, smartphone interface, HomeLink, and MyFerrari connectivity. ‌ Showing just 72 km at the time of cataloguing, this single-owner example remains virtually as delivered and under factory warranty until 9 March 2029. As the most powerful rear-wheel-drive production Ferrari at the time, and built with a configuration few buyers could ever qualify for, it represents a rare opportunity to acquire one of the most exclusive modern Ferraris, and among the most compelling expressions of the 296 Speciale.
