Introduced in 1973, the 365 GT4 BB, or Berlinetta Boxer, succeeded the Daytona as Ferrari’s flagship road car. Its mid-mounted flat-12 engine marked a significant departure from the front-engine grand tourers that had long defined the marque. ‌ Ferrari continued to develop the Boxer through the 1970s, culminating in the 512 BBi of 1981. Its Bosch K-Jetronic fuel injection replaced the 512 BB’s carburetors, bringing improved starting and everyday drivability to the final evolution of the series. ‌ First registered for the road in October 1983, this Ferrari 512 BBi was acquired by its current owner in May 2017. Finished in Red over a Black cabin with distinctive striped cloth seat inserts, the car presents attractively and retains the wonderful period ambience associated with the Boxer series, including its gated five-speed manual gearbox, three-spoke Ferrari steering wheel, and Veglia instrumentation. At the time of cataloguing, its odometer displayed just 31,374 km. ‌ The car received an extensive engine-out service in 2024, including cam belts, fluids, and gaskets, totaling more than €16,000, according to receipts on file. With its dramatic Pininfarina styling, flat-12 power, and recent significant servicing, this 512 BBi offers an appealing example of Ferrari’s final and most developed Berlinetta Boxer.
